Of course I couldn't very well create a legacy challenge without trying it myself. And sometimes I might want to change something that doesn't work or needs to be edited or modified or what have you. So, here's a brief rundown of how it went.
Currently, I am on my 3rd generation of my legacy, mostly because World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is coming out soon and I'm trying to prepare for it, because I don't want to be surprised or unprepared or whatever else. Additionally, I have a Warcraft blog that follows my adventures and exploits on the Cataclysm beta and on the live servers. You can find it in my blogs in my profile.
Gen 1:
I created my founders based off my husband and myself and our daughter (this was before I decided to create my legacy, so I swear I'm not trying to jip ya'll). Ashli and Chance Dobbs and their beautiful daughter Shayla, moved into a decent sized house in Twinbrook. Right off the bat, Chance began working in the Firefighter career while Ashli was a stay-at-home mom. After a vacation to France, Ashli developed a passion for Nectar-Making, and became a self-employed nectar-maker. Due to the nectar-maker skill, she also developed a gardening skill. They had 5 children. Chance reached the top of his Firefighter career, retired in the middle of his old age (after achieving his lifetime want of Saving 30 Sims' lives), and died after living a full life. Then his ghost was "resurrected" and he lived another full term as an Elder, working in the Military, and then Science fields. Ashli is still alive because she was the care-giver for her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren (just until gen 3 develops the traits needed to carry on the garden and nectar-making skills, along with cooking, so the family doesn't starve to death). After reaching Visa Level 3, Ashli purchased a beautiful French Villa, which all the family now uses upon trips to France.
Gen 2:
Shayla became my Heir. She developed the sculpting skill and began making money at a young age. Upon entering Young Adulthood, Shayla joined the Athletic Career (again, this was before I decided upon making this a legacy) and reached the top when she became an elder. Shayla took a vacation to Egypt shortly after graduating high school. There she met the love of her life, Ameen. They were married shortly after her return to Twinbrook. Her parents took the announcement well, and they had a small, private ceremony in the home. They had a son right off, then a daughter, and then 2 sets of female twins. I used a cheat code to break up the second set of twins, so they were about 2 days apart. The Legacy Heir chosen was from the first set of twins, a striking redhead.
Gen 3:
Charlene, a stunning beauty as a Young Adult, ran off to France and fell in love with the first Sim she met. He is a robust man in his early YA, and a real Party Animal. When they returned home, Bernard (as is his name) took a job in the Music industry while Charlene stayed home, becoming a self-sufficient writer, earning over 3K a week. After a while, they decided to have a child, and Charlene soon gave birth to a bautiful baby girl named Rebeccah. Charlene is currently developing the Gardening, Cooking, and Nectar-Making skills.
This is currently as far as I have gotten, but I am now following my own rules for my legacy challenge, and I am working on making it as fun and playable as possible.

Ashi Attempts Creating a Legacy Challenge
So I tried my hand at creating a legacy challenge. I'm not sure if this is complete yet. I'm going to look at other legacy challenges and edit mine accordingly. I am also going to continue testing it. I don't know how its going to turn out for others trying it, but I'd love some feedback from anyone that attempts it. Thanks friends!
Also, I can't think of a name for it yet.
Challenge Rules:
This legacy spans 8 generations before completion. This challenge will be nearly impossible to complete without World Adventures and Ambitions.
Founder and Legacy Heir:
* Must be female.
* Must marry a sim from a foreign country.
* Pick one skill (i.e. painting, writing, etc) to be maintained by all you Legacy Heirs.
* Pregnancies cannot be influenced by any means (aside from reading pregnancy books). Essentially meaning, you cannot choose the gender of you child-to-be. [Fertility treatment is permitted].
* Heir can have any LTW of your choosing, however it must be chosen during their teenage years.
* Husband must have a career/profession (i.e. firefighter, music career). They cannot work from home.
* Heir MUST work from home, either as a writer, painter, sculptor, or through a self-employed profession.
Housing:
* The Heir must continue to live in the house originally chosen by your Founder.
* All non-legacy children must move out of the home within 3 days of reaching young adulthood.
* A vacation home must be purchased by the time the second generation reaches young adulthood.
Non-Heirs:
* Must move out within 3 days of reaching young-adulthood.
* Must have a skill with at least 5 points invested (i.e. level 5 guitar skill)
* Must choose the first lifetime aspiration that pops up into their wants.
* LTW must b chosen during their teenage years.
* Upon their deaths, tombstones must be brought home to main lot.
Founder Sim:
* Must reach Visa Level 3 before the Sim's eldest child reaches young-adulthood.
* Traits, favorites, hair, eyes, etc, you have free reign over. You may choose anything you wish when you create your Founder.
* Additionally, you are allowed to create your Founder's husband to your liking. However, you are not allowed to create any other husbands/wives for any other generations.
Additional Requirements:
*Furniture is allowed to be customized to the fullest extent you wish. However, the furniture you choose with your founding sim must continue to remain a part of the house. The only exception to this rule is beds. Additionally, you are allowed to replace items when the option arises or after fires. (Hopefully, you don't have a fire!)
